The cottage is situated in a small quiet lane which runs fron the river wier up to the top of the valley to overlook the village below. There are just 5 other privately owned large , very old houses in the lane ..all beautifully restored and with quiet friendly owners who are rarely seen. Little traffic uses the lane..it is mostly acces for the other houses or the occasional lost tourist!!
You have a panoramic view from the garden of the woodlands, part of the chateau ( which is lit up at night) and 2 of the beautiful ancient houses. A walk through the trees at the bottom of the garden takes you into the orchard belonging to the Count who lives in the magnificent house you can see from there.
You can explore your surrounding as you desire..and discover the beauty of a time gone by.....
There are some beautiful walks direct from the cottage, around the village ,the valley and alongside the river.
An abundance of nature awaits you..a gentle flowing river, abundance of flora and fauna and fresh clean air.
The cottage has off road parking for one car. On this level is the the cellar..inside is a handy sink for cleaning off after a walk..and a washing machine. Storage for muddy boots, wet coats, umbrellas... There are extra chairs for guests ..deck chairs and the wood store.
Stone steps lead up to the terrace with table, parasol, chairs, barbeque and main entrance to the cottage.

The kitchen which looks out onto the garden. It is well equipped with a gas cooker, fridge, and everything you may require to create your holidays meals ! Even a complete picnic set for those days out..or to enjoy a meal at the Monday evening open air festive market..

The large lounge/dining area , with it's oak beamed ceiling and doorway...features an open stone fireplace, two large comfortable armchairs , a sofa which converts to a sprung double bed to provide extra sleeping if required, television, dining table and four chairs..and a double wardrobe. A built in cupboard contains all the china, glasses and essentials for dining.
Electric heating compliments the open fire. We also provide a safe parafin heater should the weather turn cold to provide an extra boost of heat to the lounge until the fire is roaring!!
We can provide a travel cot , highchair, car seat and equipment for a baby if required.
There are 2 sunloungers in the garden, and a small table and chairs for two under the shade of the trees for an evening pre dinner drink !! Also a stunning forged iron seat that surrounds a young tree which may provide some shade while you sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine!!
New this year we have placed a beatiful gazebo in the garden. Ideal if you want some shade from the sun..an outdoor private siesta or a romantic dinner ....as an alternative to the terrace area.
We also provide cushions blankets and throws to make your relaxation time more comfortable.
In fact we have evrything you could need...for a perfect stay..with that personal touch!!
